Manager of Administrative Support Operations and Staff Success

Sandy Martinez, MEd is a proud Sun Devil who has worked for Arizona State University (ASU) for almost 15 years, first as an Account Manager in Student Business Services, then as the Business Operations Specialist for the School of Transborder Studies and later in the College of Health Solutions. Currently, Sandy is the Manager of Administrative Support Operations and Staff Success in the College of Health Solutions, Deans Office. In this role, she oversees the executive and academic administrative support operations for the college and leads the Staff Success Hub managing the college’s employee engagement and improvement programs, professional development initiatives, and onboarding programming for faculty and staff. She is a member of Commission on the Status of Women being involved in one of her strongest passions, which is creating professional development opportunities for ASU staff, faculty and students. In addition, Sandy has served on the ASU Chicano/Latino Faculty and Staff Association Executive Board for two years as the Student Relations Liaison managing the Laura Rendón Scholarship and working directly with CLFSA Rendón scholars to enhance their ASU student experience. Sandy holds a bachelor of arts in Communication with an emphasis in organizational communication and a minor in business from ASU. In addition, Sandy holds a master’s degree in Higher and Postsecondary Education allowing her to continue to make a difference as a higher education professional, especially increasing college access for underrepresented groups. Sandy is also a proud alumnus of the ASU Association of Human Communication where she served on their executive board as Programming chair, Treasurer and Vice President. On a personal level, Sandy is a very approachable person who is eager to learn new things and assist others to achieve their career and educational goals. When she isn't engaged in professional pursuits or university commitments, she enjoys hiking, Crossfit, cooking, reading, volunteering, spending time with family and friends, and rooting for the LA Dodgers.
