Historian

Vanessa Jasmine Torrez is an Assistant Archivist for the Community-Driven Archives (CDA) Initiative. She has a Master of Arts in Library and Information Science from the University of Arizona and is a Knowledge River alumna (cohort 20). Her undergraduate degree is in fine arts from California Institute of the Arts, with specializations in painting and illustration.

Originally from El Paso, Texas, Jasmine has a history of professional experience as a teacher in elementary education and fine arts. Her passion for implementing creative programs and inclusive learning spaces sparked her interest in working as an information professional and archivist.
