A first-generation college graduate and lifelong Sun Devil, Ramon Nieto is the Career Advisor and Career Services Specialist in Armstrong Hall’s Futures Center. In this role, he is passionate about mentoring students in career on a one-on-one basis, researching various industries and niches, and helping the next generation of professionals leverage their education and personal experiences to triumph in the next chapter of their lives.

He holds a Bachelor's degree in English with a concentration in Writing, Rhetorics, and Literacies, which launched his deep engagement with diverse literature, insightful philosophies, and the power of words, both written and spoken. Upon graduation and discovering his love for education as a whole, he pursued his Master’s in Secondary Education and began his professional journey with the 2018 Teach For America Corps, where he dedicated four inspiring years to teaching 6th-8th grade middle school English. His Master’s Applied Project culminated in what became Literatura Latina: Culturally-Inclusive Curriculum and Text in the Classroom, which analyzed the impact of culturally immersive literature and classroom experiences on student success.

Following his time in the classroom, and understanding that education starts at home, Ramon transitioned to a role with Chicanos Por La Causa as a PAT Parent Educator. There, he was able to offer guidance to the rich immigrant communities he grew up in. He mentored and taught many immigrant families, often providing essential resources, guiding principles in early-childhood development and literacy, and life-changing liaison services.
