Jesús Chávez is a proud first-generation college graduate and higher education professional who attributes this achievement to the support of his family and mentors. He began his career with ASU as an undergraduate student in Fall 2008 and since then has developed an in-depth knowledge of the university and its commitment to individual and community success. He believes in leveraging his knowledge and experience from ASU, as well as within higher education to help students and communities find gainful success.
Jesús currently serves as the Coordinator Senior for the Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering with an emphasis on Student Success and Engagement. He has previously served as the Coordinator of Student Success and Engagement for two years and then as an Academic Success Advisor for three years. His responsibilities included coordination of events and initiatives to facilitate student success/engagement and improve retention/degree completion rates specifically at the Polytechnic Campus. These goals were achieved through strategic decision making and by creating professional relationships with university partners of all levels to enable impactful collaborations.
