Alejandra De Alba is a first-generation college graduate from a large, public university, similar to ASU. She is a proud daughter of immigrants, from a town with predominantly Spanish speaking community. Like many college graduates, she was unsure about her next steps in life and career. However, through intentional career exploration, self-reflection, and mentorship, she discovered that a career focused on the support and development of others would be a true match based on her interests, values, and skills. She completed a Master of Arts in guidance and counseling and is dedicated to supporting college students and career professionals as they seek to discover and enhance their careers across diverse industries. With 10 years of experience in student services, she collaboratively identified innovative ways to engage nontraditional college students and ensure persistence to and through college. Now, as a Senior Associate Director with the ASU Career Services team, Alejandra continues to seek new engaging and collaborative opportunities to connect students with experiential learning opportunities. She attributes her personal and career success to adopting her mother’s growth mindset and creating a morning routine filled with movement, energy, and positivity.
